We are now recruiting for a COMMUNICATIONS MANAGER.? This is a

contribution.
WHAT THE ROLE ENTAILS
* STRATEGY AND PLANNING ? working closely with the CEO, CFO and
Head of Fundraising along with other members of the senior management
team you will create a comprehensive and innovative communication
plan.? You will help the organisation continue to raise its profile
and deliver improved services to its members.
* REPUTATION AND PROFILE ? You will manage all communications
coming from Down Syndrome Ireland to make them at all times clear,
strategic, coherent and compelling.? You will assist the organisation
develop a strong plan that helps improve Down Syndrome Ireland?s
profile in Ireland across all target audiences, funders and
policy-makers.
* EXECUTION ? Overall responsibility for all external and internal
communications including Down Syndrome Ireland?s social media
presence and website activities
* ADVOCACY - You will enjoy being an influential advocate for the
organisation and those we support, including but not limited to the
media, partner organisations, government agencies, other charities and
networking groups.
KEY DUTIES TO?INCLUDE:
* Prepare and deliver a creative and comprehensive internal and
external communications plan as part of Down Syndrome Ireland?s
overall Strategic Plan and organisational goals.
* Manage the Down Syndrome Ireland?s website, responsible for new
projects as part of DSI Ireland?s digital strategy. Point of contact
between DSI and our website providers. Experience with content
writing,
* Oversee all of DSI?s public relations for our fundraising and
advocacy campaigns, create and issue press releases while working with
the media in securing regional and national features
* Together with the fundraising team, create, implement and enhance
national marketing communications schedule and planning for all
campaigns
* Manage brand consistency internally through each organisational
department and externally through campaign activity
* Partner with our **Apply on the website** branches and other key
stakeholders to deliver local? and national projects
* Lead on copy-writing and production of all marketing materials and
key publications including Annual Report and DSI Digest electronic
newsletter.
* Responsible for implementing all social media accounts and
strategy for DSI. Experience in content creation, scheduling, and
social media analytics.
* Oversee the management of a national case study?database
* Ensure staff are well briefed on key communications activities
and?issues
* Prepare and monitor annual national communications?budget
* Direct and manage communications team members as?necessary.
WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU
The Communications Manager will require an individual who can
demonstrate the following:
* Educated to degree level or similar level
* At least seven years of experience in public relations and
communications
* Excellent communications skills both written and verbal
* The ability to develop and execute communication strategies as
well as managing budgets
* Familiarity with social media platforms and effective use of the
same
* Experience in a not-for-profit organisation is not necessary but
may be helpful
* Ability to work effectively with the senior management team, the
Board and team members.
* Excellent networking skills and media experience
LOCATION
* The job is based at our National office which is on Ballymount Road
Walkinstown Dublin **Apply on the website**, Down Syndrome Ireland are
currently working a hybrid model there may be a requirement to travel
to our branches.
* Salary Dependant on experience.
